Discover with our Galicia Wine Tour a land of legends

There are a thousand reasons to do our Grand Galicia wine tour at any time of the year. And all of them are intertwined in some way with the wine culture, so present in this territory that it is impossible to separate it from its unique landscape and lifestyle.

Rías Baixas wines are crisp, meaning good acidity and fresh. Albariño is unquestionably the king grape variety of the appellation. There are fours subregions all of them with a great influence from the ocean; Ribeiro do Ulla, Condado de Tea, Val do Salnés and O Rosal, and you’ll visit the last two.

O Ribeiro is a land of country houses and farm houses. But it is also homeland of monasteries, Romanesque churches and the best-preserved Jewish quarter in the northwest: Ribadavia.

In Ribeira Sacra Many wineries are by some of the most spectacular viewpoints with over 40 degrees vineyard slope. Authentic heroic viticulture.

In Galicia food smells of childhood. If in the whole world gastronomy is one of the strongest cultural elements, in Galicia this is even more noticeable. All recipes are based on fresh produce, from idyllic potatoes perfect for the octopus specialty pulpo a feira, to the great pork or the coveted seafood, deliriously exquisite.

Galicia has remained too long an untapped culinary and wine treasure, probably because the region is difficult to get to. But albariño and the Saint James Way put it in everyone’s eyes.

LUNCH IN A FURANCHO

The Galician's best kept secret. Furanchos started as a viable "outlet" for surplus harvest, right in the private houses they were selling that extra wine and you know, no wine is offered without food. It has become a rooted tradition within locals. No menu or soft drinks, just simple hearty food and young wine to feed your soul. From December to March.

PERCEBES (barnacles)

Galicia is internationally reputed for having in its coastline the best barnacles. March, June and end of the summer are the seasons for enjoying the best fresh barnacles But getting a handful of prized gooseneck barnacles from the rocks is a very tough and dangerous mission, many fishermen have lost their lives. If you are around during the season, we’ll be glad to arrange a visit to the hunting area to watch life how it is, and feel the braveness of these people.

Free evening.
