Not to be missed, one of the most spectacular shows of nature takes place in the waters of southern Cadiz from the start of Spring until the end of Summer. Up to seven species of cetaceans, countless marine animals, and breathtaking migratory birds can be observed. Pilot whales and three different dolphin species… Sperm whales and fin whales – the second largest animal on the planet! With your professional marine biologist host teaching you about their unique characteristics, the process it takes to track and identify them, enduring protection efforts and much more, be ready to watch whales, orcas and dolphins in their natural environment.
The Strait of Gibraltar is the gateway to the Mediterranean Sea and is also a central point in between the colder waters to the North and the tropical waters off of Africa: an ideal route for migrating cetaceans and a wildlife oasis.
Cetacean species observed in this area: Bottlenose Dolphin, Common Dolphin, Striped Dolphin, Pilot Whale, Sperm Whale, Fin Whale, Orca and Cachalot.
On 98% of our excursions, we will encounter dolphins and/or whales.
