A Coruña

Part of the plane in which the ‘Guernica’ returned to Spain is exhibited in the Museum of Science and Technology. Our tour of A Coruña includes the planetarium, the aquarium, the Monte Alto neighborhood and the Tower of Hercules: the oldest active lighthouse in the world.

The city of A Coruña is … adipiscing elit. Nam venenatis mauris id libero porttitor, congue semper sapien dictum. Nunc efficitur tellus vitae laoreet congue. Sed vel tincidunt elit. Aliquam scelerisque faucibus facilisis. Duis eu blandit tortor.

But there is also an entire thrilling territory to explore…phasellus cursus risus eget lorem commodo, eu porta risus porta. Aliquam erat volutpat.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT A CORUÑA?

1. Hercules Towerthe oldest working lighthouse in the world

2. Casa Museo Picasso: …

3. A visit to Oleiros: it has charming corners. This town of Gallic rebels is full of rugged cliffs, fine sandy beaches, paths lined with chestnut and oak trees, wild hydrangeas, floripondios, bougainvilleas and araucarias. And of Indian houses, of buildings that seem to have come from colonial times, of those Galicians who made wealth in the Americas and returned to set up schools and hospitals in a country where there was nothing.

4. A visit to BetanzosIt is a medieval and Indian setting. One of the most spectacular and least known symbolic gardens that are preserved in Europe; an authentic jewel abandoned for more than half a century just over 20 minutes from the center of A Coruña that we can compare to gardens such as those of Quinta da Regaleira (Portugal) or Bomarzo (Italy).

5. Monte Neme: the turquoise secret, it’s an abandoned wolfram mine. Former place of meigas, there is a crómlech, a small circular set of slabs where they celebrated their covens. It rises 386 meters above sea level and is a full-blown natural balcony, from which you can see Carballo and Malpica. Note: it’s not ready for tourism and is only accessible by locals who know…

6. Costa da Morte: talk about some of the highlights and mention the natural pool called Pozo de Corme

7. Fisterra or Finisterre: bla bla bla

8. Three Unique Monasterioes and a Natural Park: inland, Sobrado, Monfero, Caaveiro and their three beautiful and unique monasteries trace a delicious route that includes the Fragas del Eum.

But the culinary scene is not less impressive: roast suckling pig is the city’s specialty together with the creamy La Granja white beans (judiones de la granja) famous all over Spain!Fis
