Gourmet Holidays Highlights:
- An exclusive itinerary crafted by native local experts in search of the best genuine gastronomic and cultural experiences.
- One-of-a-kind visits to unique producers generally closed to the public.
- Dive into local cuisine through our suggested restaurants.
- Discover new luxury is not about having anymore, but about being.
- Deluxe vehicles and English-speaking driver
- Totally private tour exclusive for you and your party.
Day 1: Arrival to Seville. Late in the afternoon we suggest a guided tour to explore the city from a native perspective. Enjoy an afternoon stroll around Santa Cruz, la Alameda, el Arenal, in a cultural-lifestyle combined experience as if you were a sevillano. In the evening it’s time for a fine dining taste; a pairing menu at some of our favorite restaurants can be arranged, including a Michelin star option.
Day 2: Today we suggest you roll up your sleeves for an active cooking class. You will start meeting your private chef and going for a food shopping tour at Triana Market. The menu is always unpredictable and will depend on the season. Then, straight home, yes, to the chef’s home, to start all the preparations, it will take you around three hours to get everything ready. While the stew is cooking or the gazpacho is cooling down an aperitif will be served based on a glass of local organic wine, olives, almonds, and some cured artisan cheese or jamon iberico.
The best comes at the end of the morning's cooking when you can taste the fruits of your labor as you settle in for a relaxed lunch paired with some of our favorite local wines while admiring the Cathedral.
In the evening, we can go for a real tapas tour or you can enjoy your free time (we can take care of any extra activity or restaurant booking).
Day 3: We’ll pick you up in the morning and head to Sierra de Aracena in Picos de Aroche Natural Park. Not only will you be immersed in the dehesa, the natural oasis of Iberian pigs that wander freely in search of the tastiest acorns, but you will be impressed by the beauty of the scenery of a protected habitat system. Guided but some of the best ham producer, you will learn everything about jamon iberico, how it is produced, how to buy it, cut it and how to serve it to appreciate all the flavors. Lunch is foreseen in the dehesa.
Back to Seville, enjoy a free afternoon to enjoy yourself (we can take care of any extra activity or restaurant booking).
Day 4: Andalucia is homeland of brave bulls and from ancient times Spanish landowners and nobility have been obsessed by the power and bravery of these unique specimen. Our connections allow us to give you access to some of these private ranches, and we particularly like visiting the one from a charismatic aristocrat and share a fabulous homemade lunch at her house.
Night in Ronda, enjoy yourself (we can take care of any extra activity or restaurant booking). We highly recommend a private-guided cultural tour.
Day 5: Today we’ll drive down to Gaucin for a show-cooking lunch with our private chef. This beautiful whitewashed mountain village is just half an hour's drive from Costa del Sol. Its fascinating history and the strategic situation between sea and mountains have drawn a important community of international artists for decades, and together with a flourishing gastronomy it is one of the most seductive places in Malaga. In the afternoon, a private guided tour with an arts expert will unveil you all the secrets of its charm and glamour. During evening in Ronda, enjoy yourself (we can take care of any extra activity or restaurant booking). We highly recommend a gourmet tapas tour or a relaxed fine dining option.
Day 6: Today we leave Malaga province and head to Jerez but we will stop en route for one more sensitive life event: the Olive Oil experience. Spanish olive oil production doesn’t always occur on large swaths of flat landscapes, as we tend to imagine; although this is the case in Sierra de Cadiz, where we are. As a result of the steep slopes, only mules and muleteers can access the groves. We will share a great time with the owner who also makes a wine of very limited production; a Spanish aperitif at its best with fresh bread, olive oil, cheese and red wine.
We’ll be in Jerez de la Frontera for lunchtime, take your time to relax or explore the sherry capital. After taking a rest, why not going out for a private tabancos tour, the historical name for sherry bars, with a high probability of witnessing a life flamenco show. If you want to know more about tabancos read more here.
Day 7: Last day you could combine a visit to a family-run business specialized in making cheeses and products from their own herd of goats, which they raise and milk themselves (they also breed Iberian pigs and take care of about ten donkeys), with a tapas lunch in El Puerto de Santa Maria paring tapas and sherry wines at its best. Or we could drive you to Vejer de la Frontera (considered one of the nicest Spanish villages) to enjoy a hands-on cooking class that would end in a fabulous lunch all together with Morocco in the distance and then go for a tapas tour while visiting the village and admiring the panoramic view from the castle.
Day 8: Departure
Which wines will we try? Red and white wines from Ronda, mostly organic from very small independent producers, and the full range of sherry wines.
